METROM RAIL ORIGINS

Metrom Rail began operations in early 2010, after identifying potential applications for our extensive sensor development history for the Railway Industry. In a business environment where efficiency and accuracy is so critical, Metrom Rail has become a unique resource for innovative and cost-effective products.

From our 40,000 sq.ft. facility in suburban Chicago, Metrom Rail provides complete solutions for our customers by employing the latest in design tools, in-house manufacturing, and field installation services. Our parametric design and production system allows for competitively-priced, custom solutions with minimal tooling or NRE charges.

USA-BASED MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS

We take pride in keeping as many processes in-house as possible.  Metrom Rail is capable of industrial machining, surface-mount and through-hole PCBA manufacturing, software and mechanical design, hardware assembly, and military-grade laboratory qualification testing. We require close proximity for commodity suppliers, and all assemblies in our products are manufactured in the USA. Maintaining direct oversight of supply chain and internal processes ensures our ability to control quality, reduce lead times, and react quickly to customer needs.

Our products are driven through customer or industry input, and range from simple sensors to entire systems. Metrom Rail can design and manufacture a single product for use in legacy applications, or can manufacture everything from folding communication towers, enclosures, electronics, housings, and software systems to control it all. Metrom Rail deploys a fleet of installation and maintenance teams if customers prefer a true turn-key experience. We encourage custom requests, and no project is too small or complex.
